The Boston Babes Bookin' It team supports the Boston Fit Girls Project 

(sponsored by the DMSE Children's Fitness Foundation)

The Fit Girls Fitness Program is a running and reading program for pre-adolescent girls that

 

o        addresses  the childhood obesity crisis

o        promotes  a love of literature and regular reading habits

o        builds self-esteem and confidence

o        fosters caring and supportive relationships among girls and women

o        encourages girls to give back and connect with their community

Fit Girls works with the DMSE Children's Fitness Foundation in order to provide financial support for participation in Fit Girls through our Fit Girls Grant program which reflects a strong commitment and belief that EVERY child deserves a chance at a healthy future.

All Fit Girls Fitness Grant recipient groups will receive:

  • A copy of the program manual with lessons plans for all 12 workouts
  • The right to use the FG curriculum name and logo
  • A Fit Girls t-shirt and water bottle for each participant
  • One age-appropriate book for each participant
  • Pre-paid race entry form for each participant
  • A tote bag of books to begin a team "Fit Lit" lending library.
  • Training workshop for new coaches
  • Support in training, literature updates and other wellness news
