Babes Bookin' It

Sarah Nixon, Babes Bookin' It Director, has competed in a variety of races ranging from the 5k to the marathon.  More importantly, she has combined her passion for running with community service.  She has completed 12 Boston Marathons as a member of the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge Team which raises millions of dollars for cancer research each year.

Sarah used the powerful and rewarding model of the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge in order to create the first team of Babes Bookin’ It in the fall of 2005.  Initially the group of women were raising funds for important literacy nonprofits in our community.  After the success of 3 pilot Fit Girl grant programs in the fall of 2007, Sarah made DMSE the beneficiary of BBI fundraising efforts in order to continue and expand our support of Fit Girls teams in Boston. 

In 2008 we will focus on two major running events:  The Falmouth Road Race on Sunday, August 10 and the Tufts 10k (Boston) on Monday, October 13. 

We are confident that 2008 will be a "PR" year for Babes Bookin It!
